It's hard to teach (and learn!) about a culture without at least touching on the spiritual nature of the people. I think we all need to loosen up a bit, huh?

I love this! I am also a teacher and want to incorporate art into my reading and language arts classes. I "collect" ex voto paintings online as story starters. I agree about being careful with the saints, etc. It's not my students I worry about - most of them are Mexican. It's the school board!

One more week and the show will be over. I can't wait to go see the comments in my Guest Book. It's all I have for seeing reactions, those times when I don't have an Opening Reception. Wish I could be a fly on the wall.

We have been watching you. We are artist also. At least that's what they call us. You may even know us. We'd like to invite you to a member of our very Private Club. We're very selective and only an elite few are welcome on our hallowed grounds. We pick you.

We even have a little 'chit chat' room just for the likes of you. It's rightfully called Dante's Pub. But when your enter BEWARE! You are entering the abyss of the artist mind! You may not find your way out.

Happy New Year to you! I've been trying to "rearrange" my energy fields also. We got rid of a lot of old paint cans, etc. in the garage at the toxic waste disposal site here in Orlando. I hope we can finish cleaning out the garage and Jerry can put up a light over the work bench so I can do some stained glass as the mood strikes. Next to tackle---my toxic art room. It has way too much stuff I've collected for inspiration. It's hard to be inspired when you can't find anything! LOL
